About HepQuant, LLC
HepQuant, LLC was created to fulfill an unmet medical need-
non-invasive tests of the liver to improve diagnosis and aid clinical management. It is a developmental stage company positioned to successfully breakthrough in the diagnostics market. The key advantages of our tests are:
- Uniqueness– only test that measures the portal circulation
- Safety– HepQuant-STAT™ and HepQuant-FLOW™ involve drinking a safe testing compound and giving small blood samples. HepQuant-SHUNT™ involves the placement of an intravenous catheter for administering another safe testing compound and giving small blood samples.
- Convenience– only 60-90 minutes of patient time required, depending on which test is utilized. There is no need for special diet, equipment, or accompanying adult. Patients may return to work or usual activities immediately after completion of the blood sampling.
- Natural– the test uses compounds that are natural to the human body, avoiding exposure to drugs or foreign compounds, and eliminating risk for hypersensitivity reactions
- Stable isotopes– no exposure of patients to radioactivity
- LC/MS– advanced technology for accurate quantification
- Human studies– safety assessed and relationships of test results to key clinical features of liver disease defined.
Company History
HepQuant, LLC was formed as a limited liability company in Colorado in June 2007 by a small group of investors and the inventor, Dr. Gregory T. Everson. Dr. Everson is the Chief Scientific Officer of HepQuant, LLC, and is a leader in the field of Hepatology. Initial investors funded HepQuant with the acquisition of its first Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) equipment. This equipment has been used to run the HepQuant test and fine-tune test methods.
With the help of a Proof of Concept Award and two Bioscience Discovery Evaluation grants and matching funds, HepQuant has enlisted consultants in regulatory, legal and intellectual property matters and has made progress in both laboratory methods and clinical applications.
