Initial investors funded HepQuant with the acquisition of its first Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) equipment. This equipment has been used to run the HepQuant test and fine-tune test methods.

With the help of a Proof of Concept Award and two Bioscience Discovery Evaluation grants and matching funds, HepQuant has enlisted consultants in regulatory, legal and intellectual property matters and has made progress in both laboratory methods and clinical applications.
